After five years of Holland Big Band their first album comes out:
twelve original compositions by orchestra leader and trumpet player Loet van der Lee, together forming a musical autobiography. Van der Lee:
'The repertoire contains a lot of swing from the golden big band era, modern and freshly arranged with a lot of wood frame and sometimes a Fender.
Funk, boogaloo, ballads, little songs performed in a big way. The NRC Handelsblad wrote: 'Loet van der Lee does not create music that loudly knocks
on your door but once inside he proves that the tradition of the acoustic jazz stays alive as long as there are musicians who put their heart and soul in it'. |
